Jeremy Pearl, J.D., LL.M. President and Chief Executive Officer, Miriam and Jerome Katzin Presidential Chair Email (858) 279-2740 x105 Jeremy recently succeeded Beth Sirull as President and Chief Executive Officer, and holder of the Miriam and Jerome Katzin Presidential Chair. He was selected after a rigorous evaluation process overseen by an independent consultant. Jeremy previously served as the Foundation’s Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 2005. During that time, he oversaw a significant strengthening of our financial and technology infrastructure. Jeremy also led the expansion of the Foundation’s investment management platform offered to both fundholders and community nonprofits. Jeremy’s focus on service and building deep relationships within the community helped drive the Foundation’s strong commitment to strengthening San Diego and Israel. As Executive VP and CFO, Jeremy was responsible for strategic oversight of the Foundation’s finances and operations, investments (including stewardship of funds on behalf of over eighty local nonprofits) and information systems. As a former tax attorney, he also regularly worked with professional advisors and donors to facilitate complex charitable gifts of real estate, partnerships, and closely held businesses. Jeremy also worked closely with the President & CEO and Chief Impact Officer to drive innovation and add value to our donors and partner organizations. Originally from London, England, Jeremy received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wales. After moving to San Diego, Jeremy worked for Home Federal Bank and Wells Fargo as a NASD registered representative providing securities and trust services directly to bank customers. Jeremy received his Juris Doctorate and Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of San Diego and was admitted as a member of the State Bar of California in 1997. Prior to starting at the Foundation in 2005, Jeremy specialized in tax planning with a local law firm and KPMG. He currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Catalyst (formerly San Diego Grantmakers) and is a member of the Audit Committee of the Burnham Center for Community Advancement. Jeremy is also past president of British-American Business Council San Diego, a transatlantic trade organization.
