Elena High KPMG Elena is a Managing Director at KPMG LLP. She has been with the firm since 1998, starting in the Los Angeles office Audit practice before spending almost three years in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, working in KPMG’s Global Quality & Risk Management group. Since 2007, Elena has been based in San Diego and has worked in KPMG’s Global Compliance Review team (participating in compliance reviews of KPMG member firms in over 42 countries) and the US Risk Management-Independence Group, where she focuses on developing independence policy and guidance for KPMG professionals on the permissibility of providing Advisory services and using technology solutions on KPMG’s SEC audit clients and affiliates. Elena holds a Certified Public Accountant license and is a member of the California Board of Accountancy and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Elena was born in Minsk, Belarus and emigrated to the US when she was two. Elena grew up in San Diego, California, graduating from Torrey Pines High School. She attended UCLA and graduated in three years with a Bachelor of Arts in International Economics and a Minor in Russian Language and Literature. She has been a member of the San Diego Jewish Community Foundation’s Audit Committee since 2012, and is actively involved at her children’s school, the San Diego Jewish Academy.
