Jewish Moms Giving Circle - Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego

By pooling resources with other women who share our values, we amplify our contributions and support causes that matter to our local community, while building a community of our own.

The group works closely with the Jewish Community Foundation to research organizations, make educated and informed decisions, and facilitate the grant awards.

Membership contributions fall in the range of $2,000 – $12,000 annually.

Donating appreciated securities often allows donors to make a bigger philanthropic impact, and to receive greater tax advantages than donating cash or selling the stock and donating the proceeds. By donating appreciated securities, you bypass capital gains tax and may deduct the fair market value of your gift.

Cryptocurrency

Donating cryptocurrency, such as Bitcoin, may result in a tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the donated cryptocurrency (as determined by a qualified appraisal). Your gift to charity may also be larger because instead of paying income or capital gains taxes, the Jewish Community Foundation will receive the full value of your contribution. Donors should consult with a professional tax advisor prior to gifting cryptocurrency. We partner with Giving Block to process this donation. Giving Block’s processing and administrative cost is currently 5.00% of the U.S. Dollar-denominated proceeds. The net proceeds can be credited to your Donor Advised Fund or directed to any 501(c)3 charity.
