Israel Emergency Fund (Jewish Federation of San Diego) Jewish Federation of San Diego, in partnership with Jewish Federations of North America, is coordinating a major philanthropic drive to distribute funds immediately where needed most in response to the attacks. This will include the Israel Trauma Coalition (ITC) and Fund for Victims of Terror. www.jewishinsandiego.org
Israel Emergency Grassroots Response Initiative (Impact Cubed) Leichtag Foundation and Impact Cubed have created this initiative to provide immediate resources and support to those on the frontlines helping those in need. 100% of funds raised will go to real-time urgent needs for Israelis who have had their lives torn apart. impactcubed.org
The Jewish Agency for Israel JAFI’s Fund for Victims of Terror is a first responder when terror strikes, providing immediate assistance to victims, arriving with checks within 24-48 hours of an attack, and following up with long-term rehabilitative support. www.jewishagency.org
American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) Providing emergency response to those under attack, including elderly, people with disabilities, children and families at risk, and other vulnerable populations adversely impacted. www.jdc.org
Jewish National Fund Supporting the hardest hit communities on the border including transportation, emergency evacuation, and housing. www.jnf.org
IsraAID Working with vulnerable communities and evacuated families to coordinate humanitarian efforts, focusing on psychosocial support, stress relief activities, child psychological support, and relief supplies. www.israaid.org
Leket Israel Major supplier of food to those in need. Leket Israel, the National Food Bank, is the leading food rescue organization in Israel. www.leket.org
Ogen’s Swords of Iron Emergency Economic Relief Fund With much of the north and south of Israel evacuated and with 350,000 troops called to serve, many families are suffering without income and small businesses are being forced to close. Ogen provides interest-free and highly subsidized loans to individuals and families, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations to sustain them through the economic turmoil of the war. support.ogen.org
Magen David Adom Israel’s national emergency medical, disaster, ambulance and blood bank service, primarily staffed by volunteers. afmda.org
United Hatzalah The Israeli volunteer ambulance service is seeking to equip an additional 1,000 volunteers with protective vests and helmets, oxygen tanks, defibrillators, trauma kits, and communications devices. israelrescue.org
Soroka Medical Center The major medical center serving the South of Israel – the region primarily affected by Hamas’ attacks. www.soroka.org
Hadassah After the recent Hamas attack, with hundreds dead and thousands more injured, many are currently being treated at Hadassah Medical Organization. www.hadassah.org
American Committee for Shaare Zedek Shaare Zedek in Jerusalem offers comprehensive medical and hospital services, including in their emergency mental health response center. acsz.org
Herzog Medical Center Herzog’s Metiv Israel Center for the Treatment of Psychotrauma is playing a leading role in providing trauma counseling. Additionally Herzog is designated as the primary destination for respiratory care patients from the South of Israel. www.herzoghospital.org
NATAL Global Resilience NATAL – the Israel Trauma and Resiliency Center, is an apolitical organization providing multidisciplinary treatment and support to direct and indirect victims of trauma due to terror and war in Israel. www.natal.org
ZAKA Search and Rescue / ZAKA is Israel’s dominant non-governmental rescue and recovery organization, with over 3,000 volunteers deployed around the country, on call 24/7 to respond to any terror attack, disaster, or accident immediately. zakaworld.org
Friends of Israel Defense Forces Primary nonprofit organization dedicated to those serving in the Israel Defense Forces, wounded veterans, and the families of fallen soldiers. www.fidf.org
Yad Ezra V’Shulamit Providing immediate food and related provisions to soldiers in the interim as the IDF ramps up its full-scale military operation. www.yadezra.net
Sha’ar Hanegev San Diego’s sister city lies on the border with Gaza. Tragically, the chairman of the regional council, Mayor Ofir Liebstein (z”l), was killed by Hamas terrorists on Saturday.
