Being there for the community in crisis.

The Jewish Community Foundation maintains an ongoing emergency fund to respond to community needs, when tragedy strikes.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Foundation joined with the Jewish Federation of San Diego County and the Leichtag Foundation to form the San Diego Jewish Community COVID-19 Emergency Fund. Together we were able to address community needs for assistance with rent, food and utilities for people in financial hardship. Organizations were able to purchase supplies to operate safely and to develop programming for these unique circumstances, including addressing child care and mental health needs.

As the pandemic winds down, the emergency fund stands ready to help when the next crisis strikes.
