Deborah Beyer It is an honor as a Jew to be able to have Congregation Beth Israel in my estate plans. I want you to participate in the Book of Life traditions. I grew up in a time when there was no fear of saying you are Jewish. My family was active in Jewish life in New York. I went to Hebrew school and lived on a kibbutz in Isreal in my late teenage years. Those are fond memories. I still keep in touch with friends from that experience. My immediate family are all gone now, so maintaining a connection with the Jewish community is imperative. My hope is that the funds promised in my legacy will go towards activities for the elderly. That is a group that often is isolated and lonely. Supporting the community through philanthropy is a way to keep traditions alive.
