Even with the duality of our cultural backgrounds, both of our families brought the concept of tzedakah to our generation, and we have passed it on to our children. Tzedakah is a Jewish tradition and responsibility, besides a good thing to do. When we can`t do tzedakah with financial resources, we have to dig deep and find the best of what we have within us that can contribute to others.
The joy of giving to improve the quality of life for those less fortunate lights up our lives. We feel proud and fortunate to be able to leave a legacy to help continue the outstanding work of the Jewish community.
We strive to be good role models for our family, and by becoming Legacy donors, we hope our children will in turn follow in our path and discover a new facet of their Jewish experience and identity.
