Karen is an active member in the San Diego Jewish Community where she serves on many boards and committees dedicated to improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations. She has served in many leadership positions demonstrating her love and commitment to Jewish life in San Diego.

Karen and her family, have made contributions to many of the social services offered to people in need, including seniors, those who are mentally ill, and individuals suffering from domestic abuse. She is also fiercely dedicated to women’s causes. She was a founding member of JWF and her family funds the Pauline Foster Women’s Philanthropy Leadership Institute, a groundbreaking year long leadership development program designed to cultivate strong women leaders in the San Diego Jewish Community.
