The Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego extends its support to the people of Nepal and northeast India as they face widespread death and destruction from Saturday’s 7.8-magnitude earthquake and its ensuing large aftershocks. This has been the largest quake to hit the region since 1934. Though tolls continue to rise, more than 3,900 people are confirmed dead and 7,000 injured. The earthquake caused widespread destruction in Kathmandu and the surrounding region, as well as a deadly avalanche on Mount Everest.
