Record-breaking rainfall has been pouring down on Houston, Texas and 9 surrounding counties for several weeks. A state of emergency has been declared due to this deadly flooding. The mass flooding has already taken several lives, left hundreds of people and families to be rescued and thousands without power.
This crisis has also widely affected the Jewish community living in these parts. The United Orthodox Synagogue in Houston was hit hard and took in some 3 feet of water, dozens of families are displaced and more rain is on the way.
