Dear Friends,
This will be my last newsletter introduction as CEO of the Jewish Community Foundation San Diego (JCF). As you probably know, Jeremy Pearl, JCF’s current Chief Financial Officer, will be taking over as CEO on March 15, 2024. I look forward to continuing to advise Jeremy through the spring. I also want to extend a hearty mazel tov to Eli Landau, our current Director of Finance, who will become our CFO.
I am enormously proud of what we have accomplished
together over the past seven years.
JCF’s assets have grown from just over $300 million to more than $800 million. You, our generous fundholders, gifted over $1 billion to the Foundation over the past seven years. And JCF has facilitated more than $700 million in grants to nonprofits here in San Diego, across the country, in Israel, and around the world. Thank you all for your generosity and support for JCF over these years!
My pride in our accomplishments as a team is only exceeded by the pride I feel in turning the reigns of the organization over to Jeremy and the entire incredibly talented JCF team. To all of them I would like to say "Yasher Koach" — may you continue to have the strength to do the exceptional work that you have been doing.
L’hitraot — Until we see each other again,
