Audit

The Audit Committee assists the Board in fulfilling its responsibility for oversight of the quality and integrity of the accounting, auditing, and reporting practices of the Foundation.

Board Advancement

The Board Advancement Committee develops nominations for new Board members, strategies for lay leadership succession and educational programs for the Board.

Charitable Real Estate Fund

The Charitable Real Estate Fund Committee reviews and recommends acceptance of unusual gifts such as real estate, restricted stock and life insurance to the Foundation. The Committee develops and approves gift acceptance policies and procedures and provides ongoing advice and consultation to Foundation staff regarding gift acceptance strategies and policies.

Donor Engagement

The Donor Engagement Committee assists and supports the growth of the Jewish Community Foundation through donor education, site visits and outreach.

Endowments and Grants

The Endowments and Grants Committee oversees grant distributions from endowment funds and special bequests received by the Foundation. The Committee monitors and tracks the progress of funded programs and develops donor advised fund grant education programs

Endowment Leadership Institute

The Endowment Leadership Institute Committee oversees and evaluates ELI programs as well as develops new ideas to keep the programs strong.

Finance and Systems

The Finance and Systems Committee monitors the Foundation’s current year’s budget and develops the following year’s budget, monitors the reporting of fund information, and develops general financial policies in such areas as fees, reserves and insurance coverage. The Committee plans for the Foundation’s future technology needs and recommends improvements.

Human Resources

The Human Resources Committee reviews and recommends HR policies and procedures as well as appropriate competitive benefits for retirement, health and other areas. The Committee also sets compensation guidelines for Foundation senior staff members in addition to discussing and developing staff leadership succession plans.

Investment

The Investment Committee oversees the investment of all funds and investment pools, develops and monitors investment policies for Foundation assets, and oversees the Foundation’s independent investment consultant, Jeffrey Slocum & Associates, Inc.
